PGA of America

Golf has a longstanding history of giving back. It begins with the values of sportsmanship, respect and integrity inherent to the game, and continues with the billions of dollars raised annually for charities nationwide. Whether supporting our men and women in uniform, promoting scholastic achievement or providing fundraising opportunities, the golf industry is finding ways for all Americans to benefit from the game.

Contributing to Charity

  • Golf generates $3.5 billion per year for charitable causes through thousands of local fundraising events nationwide.
  • Professional golf tournaments in the U.S. are all managed by charity-based organizations that collectively generated more than $135 million for charity in 2008.
  • The Environmental Institute for Golf, GCSAA’s philanthropic organization, contributes $1.4 million annually to fund environmental programs, including research, education, outreach and scholarships.
