This is the opportunity of a golfing lifetime to caddy for European and PGA TOUR golfer Ian Poulter at the second of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at the Deustche Bank Championship. The 2010 Deutsche Bank Championship will be held again at the TPC Boston golf course in Norton, MA. The tournament dates are August 31 - September 6, 2010. The caddy date for Poulter will be on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Englishman Ian Poulter is well known for not only his impressive golf skills, but for his sometimes radical and always trend-setting fashion style. Poulter took up the game of golf at the age of four, using a cut-down 3-wood provided by his single-digit handicap father. His older brother, Daniel, is also a professional golfer, but it is Ian who has somewhat taken the golf limelight in the family. In addition to playing on both the PGA and European PGA Tours, Poulter is the Touring professional for Woburn Golf and Country Club of Buckinghamshire, England.
Poulter has had nine wins on the European Tour, including a win at the prestigious European Tour Volvo Masters in 2004 a more recently, a win at the 2009 Barclays Singapore Open. On the PGA TOUR, Poulter posted his first win the U.S. at the 2010 WGC-Accenture defeating fellow Englishman and friend, Paul Casey. In 2009, he had a sole 2nd place finish at THE PLAYERS and has come close to winning a PGA TOUR major by finishing second at the 2008 Open Championship. Poulter made a stir in the first round of the 2008 Masters where he had a hole in one on the par 3 16th hole. Poulter has played on two European Ryder Cup teams and in an impressive four World Cup teams. In the 2008 Ryder Cup, Poulter was the highest point scorer on either team.
In 2007, Poulter launched his own clothing line, Ian Poulter Design (IJP) which is available at his website ianpoulter.co.uk. His design company designed the uniforms for the Great Britain and Ireland team in the 2008 Curtis Cup.
In addition to golf and fashion, Poulter is well known for being a huge fan of the London based football club, Arsenal FC. He is also an avid car collector and along with his purchase of a Ford GT40, he owns a Bentley Continental GT to add to his prior ownership of impressive cars including a Ferrari, Aston Martin DB9 and Nissan Skyline.
